The Basil Borutski triple-murder trial is set to resume today in an Ottawa courthouse.

Borutski faces three charges of first degree murder in the deaths of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk and Nathalie Warmerdam in September 2015.

The trial took a two week break in proceedings and has so far heard from family members of the deceased as well as officers involved in the arrest of Borutski.

A not guilty plea has been entered on Borutski’s behalf and a lawyer has been appointed to him to ensure he receives a fair trial.
