A pair of runners from Madawaska Valley District High School have recorded top five finishes at the OFSAA Cross Country Championships.
Jonathan Stoppa finished fourth in the senior boys six kilometres race, which included Grade 11 and 12 students from all across Ontario. Stoppa ran the race in 20:16.
On the girl’s side, Laura Yantha, also from MVDHS, finished fourth in her race with a time of 23:24, just one second shy of a podium finish. Yantha has committed to Queen’s University for the cross country season next year.

This year’s OFSAA Championships were held in Petawawa over the weekend.
