More than 5,000 customers without hydro in the area

More than 5,000 homes are still without power in our listening area this evening.

Hydro One says more than 5,000 homes from the Bancroft operations centre and 30 households from the Cobden operations centre don’t yet have their electricity back after yesterday’s outage. It says about 120 staff and one helicopter are on-site.  Power in the Bancroft area is expected to return back by 8:00pm, while in the Cobden area, it could be 6:00pm before the electricity returns.

The outage is impacting almost 40,000 Ontario customers.
