More than 2,000 customers without hydro in the region

More than 2,000 homes are still without power in our listening area this afternoon.

Hydro One says more than 2,000 customers from the Bancroft operations centre and 600 households from the Cobden operations centre are without electricity following yesterday’s outage. It says about 120 staff and one helicopter are working in the region.  Power in the Bancroft area is expected to be back by 11:30pm, while in the Cobden area, it could be 10:00pm before the hydro returns.

The outage is affecting about 55,000 customers in Ontario.
