Close to 10,000 customers without hydro in the area

Almost 10,000 homes are still without hydro in our listening area this morning.

Hydro One says 8,000 customers from the Bancroft operations centre and close to 2,000 households from the Cobden operations centre don’t have hydro following yesterday’s outage. It says roughly 77 staff and one helicopter are working in the region.  Power in the Bancroft area is expected to be back by noon, while in the Cobden area, it could be 11:00pm before the electricity returns.

The outage is impacting just over 65,000 customers in Ontario.
