Basil Borutski told OPP officers that he killed three Madawaska Valley women because ‘they were not innocent.’
The second part of a videotaped police interview taken the day after the deaths of Anastasia Kuzyk, Carol Culleton, and Nathalie Warmerdam two years ago, was shown in court today during the murder trial of Borutski.
In it, Borutski explains in great detail how the women were killed, and that God had been on his side. He knew all three victims, and had been convicted of charges against two of the women. Borutski also said in the video that, before the murders, he had not slept in days and had reached out to a crisis line and probation officer for help.
Borutski continues to refuse to take part in the trial against him, and has not entered a plea or retained a lawyer. A not guilty plea has been entered on his behalf.
The trial resumes Tuesday.
