The Madawaska Valley Fire Department is investigating 11 minor fires set in Barry’s Bay since August.

Fire Chief Corwin Quade says the fires happened between Sand Hill Drive and Peter Street in Barry’s Bay, and range in size between 30 and 60 centimetres.

Quade also says that one fire was set right next to pine trees, and another within 30 centimetres of a vehicle.

The Madawaska Valley Fire Department and the OPP are both investigating all 11 fires, and this includes two fires that were set at St. John Bosco School in August.

Residents are being reminded that if you come across a fire, call the fire department and if you see someone lighting a fire, call the OPP.
