Twelve jurors have been selected to hear evidence in the trial against Basil Borutski.
He is charged with first degree murder in the deaths of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk, and Nathalie Warmerdam over two years ago in the Madawaska Valley.
A jury of seven women and five men, along with two alternates, will hear evidence in the trial that is expected to last 17 weeks. Tomorrow afternoon, the judge is expected to go over some final instructions for jurors, before the Crown makes its opening statement, and the first witness is called.
The now-59-year-old has not yet hired a lawyer. As a result, a friend of the court and a lawyer have been appointed to him. Borutski has also not entered a plea, meaning a not guilty plea has been entered on his behalf.
