Two Explorers Following In The Footsteps of Alice The Moose

Between 2000 and 2002, researchers tracked Alice the Moose as she made her way from Adirondack Park in New York to Algonquin Park.

Now, two explorers have begun a journey of their own in an attempt to replicate Alice’s path, with each of them starting at a different end of it.

John Allport will be starting in Algonquin Park, while John Davis will begin his journey in Adirondack Park.

David Miller, Executive Director of the Algonquin to Adirondack Collaborative, says this journey wasn’t just thought of overnight.

Miller also says that it’s a good thing the recent heatwave is now over, and the weather is perfect for hiking.

The adventure began on Sunday, and both explorers are set to meet at Wellesley Island just south of Lansdowne on October 15th. Updates from their journey will be posted at the A2A Facebook page.
