The Madawaska Valley has received the final installment of their Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant to go towards the fitness centre.
The final installment is for nearly $35,000 and can now be applied to the fitness centre, however the deadline to use the grant is in early October.
As a result, Mayor Kim Love says the next step is to request a 2-month extension on the grant so they can use it past the original deadline. The extension would not provide more money, just more time to use allocated money.

The fitness centre is open from 5:30pm to 10:00pm Monday through Friday, and is $30 a month to use.
