That’s according to the Bonnechere Valley Township, who says the arena was supposed to be done for the start of the hockey season, but will now need more time.
The 50-year-old arena is having its ice freezing systems repaired as it is leaking and corroded.
During construction, the township says they have found other venues for summer bookings, and other arenas in the area have provided ice time to groups who usually use the Eganville Arena.
The township was granted $445,000 by the Ontario Trillium Foundation at the beginning of 2017 to repair the arena.
