Local Athletes Fair Well in Ontario Special Olympics

Three local athletes combined for nine medals at the 2017 Special Olympics Provincial Summer Games this year.

Rachel Belfour from Petawawa took home three gold medals and two silvers.

Brian Dinwoodie from Pembroke took home a silver medal in golf after shooting a 74 in his first game, and a 63 in his second game.

Jeff Shand, also from Pembroke took home three medals, two of which silver and a bronze.

All three athletes represented the Ontario East Region, and will now have a chance to qualify for the Canada National Summer Games next July and August.
