The Madawaska Valley Recreation, Heritage and Culture Committee has received a letter from someone who was unhappy after renting the Combermere Community Centre.
The centre was used for a family reunion in June and the renter said lots of things weren’t properly working.
Diane Prince, one of the people who used the hall that day, says that the elevator was not working on the day of the event, and family members had to carry elder relatives in wheelchairs up and down the stairs.
She also says things were left behind from a previous event, fuses kept blowing, and that there wasn’t enough hot water to do dishes afterwards.
The committee will issue an apology to the renter, as well as look into a refund for them.
