Going forward, there will only be one regular Bancroft Council meeting each month.
The announcement was made by Acting Mayor Paul Jenkins during a meeting earlier today, saying the town will be opting for more committee meetings instead.
Jenkins says he believes the decision will benefit Bancroft residents.
Some councillors had expressed concerns about the length of meetings in the past, but Jenkins says he does not think they will become longer because of this decision.
CAO Hazel Lambe will be looking into whether or not the procedural bylaw needs to be changed because of the move.
