There have been no reported fentanyl overdoses to St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

That’s according to Patient Care Services at the hospital, who said they have not had any fentanyl related overdoses despite the rise in the issue across Canada.

However, the hospital does say that they stock Narcan in their emergency rooms as a precaution, to ensure they are always prepared.

All Renfrew County paramedics now carry Narcan on them at all times in case of an overdose call.

Narcan is an antidote that is used to block the effects of fentanyl and opioid overdoses.
