MPP says residents facing energy poverty in the riding

Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski says those living in the riding are increasingly facing energy poverty.

In his monthly column, he talks about the partial sale of Hydro One hurting taxpayers around the province. Yakabuski says record-high electricity rates are already making customers choose between hydro and food.

He says these programs are designed to help people with low-incomes cover their bills, but that not everyone qualifies.
