Eganville’s Melissa Bishop Finishes 5th At World Track Championships

Eganville’s Melissa Bishop has finished 5^th at the World Track and Field Championships in London, England.

Bishop, who competes in the women’s 800-metre race, finished one-tenth of a second out for 4^th place, and two seconds out of 1^st place with a time of 1:57.68.

The 29-year old took home silver in the 2015 World Championships in Bejing, and more recently gold at the Canadian Championships in Ottawa.

Bishop also holds the National Record for the 800-metre race, and is one of just three Canadian women to run the race in under two minutes.
