Severe thunderstorms could strike the Madawaska Valley area

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Madawaska Valley area.

Environment Canada says severe thunderstorms could develop this afternoon and into the evening.

These thunderstorms could come with winds gusting up to 90 kilometres an hour, two centimetres of hail, and heavy downpours.

You are being reminded to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
