Warning downgraded to severe thunderstorm watch in Madawaska Valley

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Madawaska Valley area.

Environment Canada says severe thunderstorms could be on the way, which could produce strong winds, large hail, and heavy rain.

The area could be hit with two centimetres of hail, and winds gusting up to 90 kilometres an hour.

The weather agency says the thunderstorms should move out of the area late this afternoon.
