Highway 417 Expansion To Renfrew Closer To Reality

Renfrew County has received approval from the Ministry of Transportation to proceed with plans to expand Highway 417.

The approval will allow the county to enter the design detail phase, which brings the completion of the 417 closer to reality.

The MTO says the expansion would be from Scheel Drive, to three kilometres west of Bruce Street in Renfrew and would run almost 20 kilometres.

The MTO can now move forward with steps that lead to expanding the highway corridor to four lanes.
