Renfrew County paramedics are now using state of the art technology at emergency scenes.
The advancement is portable ultrasound machines, which just finished a one-year pilot project in June.
The ultrasound machines allows paramedics to scan patients for possible injuries before they even get to the hospital.

The new machines were put to the test last Tuesday after a serious collision that sent seven people to the hospital.
Renfrew County Paramedic Service says that the Ottawa Paramedic Service is also interested at taking a look at the results of the new ultrasound machine.
