Crowe Valley Conservation Authority’s water safety statement remains in effect

The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority is reminding you to use extreme caution around all water bodies in the area.

This comes as the conservation authority’s water safety statement remains in effect for parts of North Kawartha, Wollaston, Limerick, Tudor and Cashel, Faraday, and Highlands East. The statement is reminder that high flows and unsafe banks could be potentially dangerous for recreational users of waterways in these areas.

Because of that, General Manager Tim Pidduck says it’s important for you, your kids, and your pets to stay away from all water control structures.

Pidduck says the conservation authority is also concerned about beaver dams failing unexpectedly at this time of year.

The conservation authority is reminding drivers to be alert for washouts.

Flooding is not expected at this time.
