A project to create non-motorized trails in North Hastings is moving forward thanks to provincial funding.
The province has announced the North Hastings Economic Development Committee will receive an almost $43,000 trillium grant. The funding is set to be put towards developing a non-motorized trail master plan. Committee Chair Cathy Trimble has said this will be a comprehensive, long-term plan to guide the development of a connected system of trails in North Hastings, and foster a more active lifestyle.
This is one of more than 200 projects across the province to receive a grant as part of the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Seed Investment Stream, meant to build healthy and vibrant communities.
