It’s now going to be easier for those living in the north-end of Peterborough County to get their water tested.

North Kawartha and Peterborough Public Health have announced that, starting today, county residents will be able to drop off water samples in Apsley. These samples will be picked up twice a week, and tested for E. coli and total coliforms, which can cause those who drink them to become ill.

You can drop off your water sample at the North Kawartha Township office at 280 Burleigh Street in Apsley, where you can also get a free kit to test your water. For more information, click here.

Residents are urged to check their water three to four times a year as the quality of it can change over time.
