The Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP has some very serious concerns over how marijuana should be legalized in Ontario.

MPP John Yakabuski says he is concerned that marijuana legalization could be very challenging due to the amount of regulations and restrictions needed. Yakabuski says one of his main concerns is how law enforcement will be able to deal with it in order to keep Ontario’s road safe.

This comes as the province has released a survey to get public feedback on the issue in preparation for pot to be legalized across Canada by July 1st, 2018. The province will have to establish laws to regulate its distribution, sale, and consumption before that date.

On the matter of where pot should be sold in Ontario, Yakabuski says he thinks pharmacies would be the best place.

Minimum ages to buy pot will have to be set out by individual provinces and territories, but still have to be over 18. Yakabuski says he would like to wait for the results of public feedback before he takes a stance on how old someone should be to buy marijuana.

You have until July 31st to fill out the survey and weigh in on how Ontario should approach marijuana legalization. Click here for more information.
