Barry’s Bay’s visitor centre has been honoured for excellence in customer service at an annual tourism convention in Pembroke.

The Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Association Annual Conference recognized the visitor centre and South of 60 Arts Centre/Railway Station with an award last week. This is after a mystery shopper gave an impressive review of the facility in July, as part of a program through the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association.

Madawaska Valley Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says these kinds of events help the township come up with new tourism ideas.

He says events like this also let the township share ideas with other communities. For more on recreational opportunities in the Madawaska Valley, click here.
