Madawaska Valley’s Fire Department has a new defibrillator in its north hall thanks to a grant from Hydro One.
Fire Chief Corwin Quade says it’s a much-needed addition for the department.
He says the piece of equipment isn’t just used to help victims in the field but also for firefighters themselves.

Quade says cardiac conditions can affect firefighters from time-to-time in the field when put in high-stress and dangerous environments.
