The Madawaska Valley is hoping that some new programs will bring you to the arena this winter.
A grant from the Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat is allowing the township to offer free skating at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre for seniors who are 55+ Wednesdays at 2:00pm.
Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says weekend pick-up hockey is a new program being offered for only $2 per person. He says the township is also looking at having pick-up hockey for ladies on Sundays.
Senior swimming programs are happening throughout the winter at the Pine Wood Lodge Thursdays at 2:00pm. For the township’s full recreational schedule including public skating times, click here.
