OPG Further Slows Bark Lake Release into Kamaniskeg

OPG says the amount of water entering Bark Lake is down and it has decreased the release from its dam yet again.

Madawaska Valley’s Mayor Kim Love says the water levels on Lake Kamaniskeg and the Madawaska River system have peaked.

Love says water levels are expected to decrease by a few centimetres overnight tonight.

OPG says this weekend’s forecasted rain is not anticipated to cause a rise in waters again.

The township says it could take weeks for the flood waters to recede and may not be back to normal until late June.
