OPP Report Four-Year High in Road Deaths

Our Killaloe OPP says is asking drivers to be more careful to stop deaths on Ontario’s roads.

The OPP has released statistics from 2016, showing 307 people were killed on the road, marking a four-year high.

Over half of these deaths were because of speeding and not properly wearing seatbelts, along with inattentive and impaired driving.

Commissioner Brad Blair says poor, careless behaviour is the core of most fatal collisions, and police will continue to work to enforce the laws on Ontario’s roads, waterways, and trails.
