Canada Parks and Recreation Framework Resonates Tourism Values

The Township of Madawaska Valley’s more focused push for tourism mirrors new values and goals handed down from Canadian Parks and Rec.

That’s according to Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper.

Nopper says tourism could stand to have a bigger economic impact on communities in the area.

He says the new goals laid out by the framework play well into the values and the potential of recreation and tourism.

Canada Parks says the new approach to recreation ties in municipal, provincial and federal government support when it comes to recreation.

It comes as the township has officially launched its all-season Come Wander campaign alongside Tourism Ontario.
