Several communities in the Ottawa Valley are facing flooding and each municipality has support in place to help residents.

Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Fire Chief Bob Gareau says low lying areas of Round Lake, Tramore Reach and Golden Lake are the township’s primary concerns.

North Algona Wilberforce says it’s looking for volunteers to assist with sand bags in the township, with supplies available at the Golden Lake municipal garage.

In the Madawaska Valley, Fire Chief Corwin Quade says the waters on Dam Lake Road are down, however there is uncertainty regarding the water levels on Kamaniskeg Lake.

If you do require assistance or information you’re being asked to call your municipality.

The Killaloe OPP says in the case of an emergency do not hesitate to call 911.

A flood warning remains in effect for the Pembroke District of Renfrew County and all municipalities in the region are asking you to stay away from any streams or rivers as water is flowing rapidly in most areas.
