The Renfrew County and District Health Unit will be hosting community information sessions regarding fentanyl and opioid overdoses next week.

It comes as fentanyl has become an increasingly more important issue for police and healthcare organizations in Ontario.

The County of Renfrew’s paramedics are now all equipped with naloxone, a drug used to temporarily block the effects of opioids.

The drug is now also available from many local health unit offices.
