The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has extended its flood warning for the York and Madawaska rivers.

Flood warnings are also in effect for the Pembroke region and much of Renfrew County.

You should expect flooding near low-lying areas of these rivers as snow continues to melt, and more rain is in the forecast.

The MNRF says water levels in these rivers are already high.

You are being asked to be cautious near fast-moving rivers and streams.

That warnings is being reiterated by Madawaska Valley’s Fire Chief Corwin Quade as river banks are more prone to collapse during high currents.
