A new municipal alcohol policy has been approved by council just in time for summer events in the Madawaska Valley.
Councillor Shelley Maika raised concerns in prior weeks over repetitive and over-complicated language in the revamped policy.
Council agrees the new changes provide a much clearer policy for event organizers and staff.
Questions of liability to the township and responsibilities pertaining to any youth caught drinking under age were also addressed in the discussion.
The policy now states anyone caught under age will be put into the care and custody of a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
