Local snowmobile clubs and trail groups in the region are asking you to stay off the trails with any off-road or four-by-four vehicles for the time-being.

Madawaska Valley’s Community and Recreation Coordinator Paul Nopper says trail groups use the spring thaw to address damage and repairs to the trail systems.

He says the idea is to prevent any further damage or rutting during the thaw which could impact the summer season.

While OFSC clubs in Snow County 6 have called it a season, their work isn’t quite done yet.

You can keep up with spring-time updates on the trails by following the Opeongo Snowbirds on Facebook or checking in at the Snow Country 6 website.
