As the weather begins to improve so does the likelihood of more drivers speeding on our roads according to police.

Some OPP detachments record a spike in speeding fines when the weather begins to turn every year.

Killaloe OPP Constable Catharine Yarmel says traffic safety is a prime concern this time of year.

Police are also reminding those entering Barry’s Bay from Highway 62 a new community safety zone will be in place in front of Sherwood Secondary and MVDHS in the coming weeks.

The OPP will be stepping up enforcement in that area once the new zone comes into effect.
