Burn Permits Now Available at Township Offices

Madawaska Valley’s fire chief says as warmer weather is approaching fire permits are now required for burning.

Corwin Quade says the permits are ten-dollars, good for five days and can be purchased at the township’s offices in Barry’s Bay.

Quade says firefighters have already responded to three calls as it’s the time of year many burn leaves or refuse from spring landscaping.

Fines for burning without a permit begin at $1,000.
