The Killaloe OPP is continuing to raise awareness during Fraud Prevention Month on how to keep your personal information safe.

The OPP says a recent romance scam has surfaced taking on the form of dating websites, through e-mail and on social media.

Police say they’ve investigated cases across the province where victims lost thousands of dollars before ever meeting individuals in person.

The Killaloe OPP says never give out banking or even personal information online.

Police say thinking critically about email addresses, websites and social media accounts can help you protect yourself from fraud.
