The town of Bancroft is negotiating a contract with the Rally of the Tall Pines for 2017 and 2018.
The contract would include a $5,000 sponsorship from the town, and about $7,500 in work-in-kind from staff.
Organizers have also been asked to take on the cost of significant damage to local roads, which council is asking for more clarity on before moving forward with the contract.
Organizers tell Council the event brought in over $622,000 to the local economy in 2016, a $160,000 boost from the year before.
