The Township of Madawaska Valley is reluctant to make changes to its Bark Lake waste site.
Operations Manager Hilary Kutchkoskie says there are two recommendations in the annual waste from the township’s environmental consultant which has been rejected.
Kutchkoskie has raised workplace safety concerns over the recommendation to move the construction demolition pile to the top of a hill.
He says additional cover would come with a hefty price-tag.
Greenview Environmental Management was brought in last year to help the township improve monitoring, address environmental concerns and manage costs of the township’s waste sites.
