Warmer Temperatures Prompt Ice Safety Warnings

Conservation authorities in eastern Ontario are warning you to keep safety in mind near rivers, streams and other areas with moving water.

Temperatures reached highs of 12 degrees in some areas over the weekend.

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is also advising snowmobilers to be wary of ice crossings and to always check ice thickness.

This week’s forecast in the Madawaska Valley area is calling for more plus-temperatures before cooling down to more seasonal norms this weekend.
