The Coldest Night of the Year is coming up to benefit the Renfrew County Safe Shelter for Youth and The Grind Refuge in Pembroke.

Administrator and Coordinator for The Grind Refuge in Pembroke says the business is a by-donation coffee house.

The coffee house contains a shelter in the other half of the building with three bedrooms, which opened up in December of last year.

Teams can register to participate in the two, five and 10 kilometre walk through Pembroke to help raise money for the shelters and battle homelessness.

The event kicks off on Saturday, February 25th at the Royal Canadian Legion branch on Pembroke Street.
