Rural communities can apply for provincial funding to help boost economic growth.

This is part of the province’s Rural Economic Development program, which will fund projects ranging from downtown revitalization plans to tourism-related marketing.

Every year, the province will invest $5-million into these projects.

A link to apply can be found here.

In 2016, the township of Greater Madawaska got about $6,000 from the program to hire a consultant to create a strategic plan for economic development.
