Police Sharing Tips to Protect Small Businesses from Theft

The Killaloe OPP is reaching out to the public in a case of theft from a home in Barry’s Bay.

Police say propane heaters and a well pump have been stolen from a shed located on Paugh Lake Road.

The OPP says it has little go on and has called in its forensic ID unit to help in the investigation which is still ongoing.

You can always leave tips anonymously with the Renfrew County Crime Stoppers or call your local detachment if you have any information related to open investigations.

With that, police want small businesses to succeed by protecting themselves from crime.

The Killaloe OPP says small businesses can fail if they are the victims of theft or break and enter, and there are a few tips to stay safe.

These include having lights inside and around your business and leaving them on at all times.

You can even add window bars for added protection, and consider installing an alarm system.
