The Township of Madawaska Valley is supporting a resolution from Bancroft which could stand to help with municipal fundraising.
It comes as Bancroft’s council discussed new ideas on how to help generate funding for infrastructure and other needs, looking to the reinstating of lotteries.
It would mean events such as bingo or raffles could be brought back into legislation to help municipalities raise money.
It also comes as municipalities in Ontario are facing as-much-as $60-billion in infrastructure investment gaps.
Copies of the resolution have also gone to AMO, ROMA, the province and other municipalities.
