Two people charged after trying to evade police near Bancroft

A Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan woman has been arrested for theft after a traffic stop in Faraday.

Bancroft OPP says a RIDE check was set up on the evening of December 31^st. A vehicle tried to evade the checkpoint, but was eventually pulled over.

Police figured out the driver had been drinking, and have charged a 21-year-old Highlands East man with careless driving and driving without a licence.

The 27-year-old woman in the passenger seat was also arrested for stealing from someone at a Bancroft business on December 28^th, and faces charges for theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with probation.
