Fewer sightings during 2016 Algonquin Park Bird Count

The 2016 Algonquin Park Christmas Bird Count had fewer sightings than most years.

Bird watchers caught a glimpse of over 2,700 birds from 25 different species during the 43^rd Christmas Bird Count. On average, there are over 4,500 bird sightings ranging from 27 different species.

The Bird Count was held on December 30^th, in cloudy, snowy, and windy conditions, which may have made it harder to see birds in the park.
