People turning 65 this year can get a free shingles vaccine from our local health unit.
Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health hopes the free vaccine will encourage seniors to get it, and reduce their risk of developing an illness which effects on third of Canadians.
The Province says Ontarians will save about $170 with the free vaccine.
Symptoms of the illness include pain, tingling, itching, and rashes which can last for over a month.
