OPP Continues Opioid Awareness Campaign into New Year

The OPP is raising awareness about the dangers of handling or using fentanyl.

Police will be using social media to educate the public about the drug and other opioids.

Fentanyl is a doctor-prescribed painkiller 100 times more potent than morphine, but can be used as a cutting agent by drug-dealers.

It was responsible for over 500 deaths in Ontario in the past five years.
